Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO to lead digital ecosystem design, cloud architecture, and MBSE for the Missile Defense Agency. You will integrate APIs, external tools, and AI frameworks to deliver secure, scalable solutions and actionable dashboards.

The role requires deep MBSE experience, cloud proficiency, and a track record building enterprise dashboards. Clearances and DoD familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• MS in STEM field with 12+ years related experience in software integration, systems engineering, or enterprise architecture.

• Working knowledge of MBSE and SysML.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and accelerate delivery of operational capabilities via API integration, cloud architecture, MBSE.
• Lead onboarding and integration of external software, models, simulations, AI tools, and operational capabilities.
• Design and implement secure API-based integrations and data exchange architectures.
• Design AI-enabled digital ecosystems supporting human-machine teaming.
• Develop integration architectures connecting APIs, data services, semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Implement semantic data models and ontologies to improve AI reasoning and data discoverability.
• Develop AI-ready data pipelines transforming data into knowledge assets.
• Integrate LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, and workflow automation into enterprise environments.
• Develop enterprise dashboards and common operational pictures.
• Support MBSE activities using SysML and related diagrams.
• Develop common data models and integration standards.
• Support interoperability including Link 16 and gateway architectures.

• In this role you will get to provide digital ecosystem, cloud architecture, and Model-based System Engineering expertise in support of the Missile Defense Agency Chief Digital Officer (CDO) mission

Job Description:

• Able to combine expertise in API integration, cloud architecture, model-based systems engineering, dashboard development, DevSecOps, tactical interoperability, and digital engineering to coordinate and accelerate delivery of operational capabilities.
• Lead onboarding and integration of external software, models, simulations, AI tools, and operational capabilities.
• Design and implement secure API-based integrations and data exchange architectures.
• Design and implement AI-enabled digital ecosystems supporting human-machine teaming.
• Develop integration architectures connecting APIs, data services, semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Implement semantic data models and ontologies to improve AI reasoning and data discoverability.
• Develop AI-ready data pipelines that transform structured and unstructured data into consumable knowledge assets.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks, and workflow automation services into enterprise environments.
• Develop enterprise dashboards and common operational pictures.
• Support MBSE activities using SysML, activity diagrams, and block diagrams.
• Develop common data models and integration standards.
• Support tactical interoperability including Link 16 and gateway architectures.
• Support DevSecOps pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
• Provide technical recommendations to government leadership.

Qualifications:

• Must have a MS in STEM field, and at least 12+ years related experience in software integration, systems engineering, or enterprise architecture.
• Must have experience with API design and integration.
• Must have working knowledge of MBSE and SysML.
• Must have experience building enterprise dashboards.
• Must have experience with cloud environments and container technologies.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD programs, preferred.
• Experience with Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA, or Rhapsody, preferred.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or Kibana, preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes, GitLab, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, preferred.
• Knowledge of Link 16, tactical data links, and C2 architectures, preferred.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled workflows and digital engineering ecosystems to include Semantic Search, RAG Architectures, LLM Integration, Agentic AI Frameworks, AI Orchestration Platforms, and Data Fabric Architectures, preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active or Interim Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.

Travel Requirements:

• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
