Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
• Proven ability to work across disciplines and integrate inputs from process, mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, facilities, and software teams in the development of complex systems.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and maintain a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and use it to guide systems engineering work products, technical reviews, traceability, and verification planning.
• Strong systems thinking and technical leadership skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous needs into structured requirements, interfaces, architecture decisions, and executable work products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment and communicate technical content clearly across functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary systems engineering point of contact between process engineering and cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, controls, reliability, manufacturing, facilities, and software engineering.
• Lead technical scoping and systems engineering planning for new products, technology changes, and subsystem enhancements, including drafting and maintaining a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
• Translate customer, product, process, safety, and business needs into clear system, controls, and software requirements and functional specifications using INCOSE-aligned systems engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, theory of operation, functional breakdowns, interface definitions, and architecture options for process modules and cluster tools.
• Drive architecture trade studies, gap and risk analysis, and closure planning to support sound technical decisions and design maturity.
