Job summary
RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Scrum Master to lead Agile teams and coordinate across engineering disciplines. The role involves requirements development, architecture, and verification activities, with up to 25% travel and a current SECRET clearance.
You will work closely with Product Owners to drive planning, tracking, and data‑driven decisions throughout the system lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile processes including Scrum or SAFe.
- Experience with systems development: requirements, design, decomposition, integration, verification/validation, and transition to production.
- Active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
- Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Agile/Scrum team activities (standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, PI planning, reviews, retrospectives).
- Guide teams in applying Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban; remove impediments and ensure transparent communication.
- Partner with Product Owners and leadership to prioritize backlogs and plan increments using metrics.
- Perform systems engineering across the product lifecycle including requirements, architecture, and interface definition.
- Support system integration, verification/validation, and test planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver system capabilities; travel up to 25%.
