Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Avionics Engineering team within the Aftermarket Systems group. You will translate customer needs into hardware and software requirements, drive system architecture decisions, and support on-aircraft installation and testing of avionics updates.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum 3 years of experience.

As part of the Aftermarket Systems team, you’ll be instrumental in developing retrofit solutions for the large fleet of Collins equipped aircraft currently flying today as well as supporting our existing fielded solutions. What You Will Do

  • Support the on-aircraft installation of avionics updates along with supporting ground and flight testing.
  • Maintain system configuration and documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Ability to manage tasks and meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Private Pilot License or general passion for aviation.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
