Saab is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Systems Engineer for the Automation and Surveillance team in East Syracuse, NY. You will design, deploy, integrate, tune, and commission air traffic surveillance and automation systems, collaborating with customers worldwide and traveling internationally.

You will develop system designs, perform trade studies, lead small teams, and produce technical documentation and test plans to support design reviews and field deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of technical/project experience equivalent to a senior engineer.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• $115,700 - $150,500

• Computer programming in a high‑level language such as Matlab, C/C++, Java, etc.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of air traffic surveillance systems
• Familiarity with Linux

Typical Education and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution; or
• Relevant military education & training
• Technical/project experience consistent with that of a senior engineer or technical professional (8+ years’ experience)

Travel

• Opportunity for international travel (up to 25%)
