Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, OH is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Oil Free Centrifugal compressor integration with OEM accounts. You will coordinate with the OFC development team to support the compressor, controls and drive in customer systems.

You will create customer-facing specs, troubleshoot controls, and provide technical training to Copeland teams and customers. Travel may be required to support installations and field testing.

Join our team and start your journey today!Our Sidney, OH location is searching for an **Engineering** professional responsible for leading the Copeland oil free centrifugal compressor integration with multiple strategic HVAC/R OEM accounts. You will be responsible for successfully integrating the compressors, controls and drive into the OEM’s system. You will be the primary Oil Free Centrifugal compressor contact for our customers and collaborate closely with the Copeland internal engineering, marketing, sales and planning teams. **As the Oil Free Centrifugal Senior Systems Engineer, you will:*** Work with the Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) development team to become the customer facing technical expert supporting the compressor, controls and drive.* Assist with testing and troubleshooting the Copeland controls and variable speed drive.* Represent Copeland to integrate the OFC solution into the customer’s system.* Provide samples and work directly with the customer’s engineering team and lab resources to test and validate the application.* Create customer facing technical specifications and troubleshooting guidelines.* Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as power electronics, engineering, labs, marketing, product management and sales.* Provide technical training to the internal Copeland team, customers and end-users.* Clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and customers.**SCHEDULE:**This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person, and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in the office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers. **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:*** Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent* Five plus (5+) years of experience with oil free compressors (air, water, or refrigerant) or commercial HVAC systems (preferably chillers)* An Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent may be considered with ten plus (10+) years of experience with oil free compressors (air, water, or refrigerant) or commercial HVAC systems (preferably chillers)* Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time.* Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) and wiring.* Understanding and experience with variable speed drives and the effects on the compressor and system.* Effective and adaptive oral and written skills for training, technical support and various problem-solving skills.* Proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.**PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:*** Experience with integrating and troubleshooting oil free centrifugal compressors, controls and variable speed drives.* Experience with developing and troubleshooting controls and variable speed drives in an HVAC system.* Customer facing technical and sales experience.* Experience with the operation of chillers and data center applications. #LI-Hybrid #LI-GR1**Our Commitment to Our People**Across the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
