Job summary

Mendaera is seeking a Systems Engineer in California to support the commercialization of the Focalist system. You will define solutions with KPIs, prioritize system work, and collaborate with product management and engineering teams to deliver safe, effective medical technology.

The role focuses on translating clinical and business requirements into technical specifications, conducting engineering studies, and maintaining risk analyses throughout development.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree required or preferred.
• 5+ years industry experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with technical partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop new features for the Focalist System.
• Understand the system from both a technical and user perspective, and drive definition and development of the system accordingly.
• Work with product to translate clinical and business requirements to design input requirements and technical specifications.
• Generate engineering studies and risk assessments to bound technical problems and clearly communicate trade-offs.
• Develop test methods to characterize and verify the system against performance requirements.
• Integrate and debug prototypes, maintain configuration and documentation records of verification candidates.
• Maintain risk file documents, including FMEA and System Hazard analysis.
• Prioritize engineering feature sets and drive system level execution.
• Track engineering requirements and KPIs across development lifecycle.

About the Opportunity

Mendaera is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the successful commercialization of the Focalist system; define solutions that address unmet needs in healthcare; quantify those solutions with engineering specifications and KPIs; lead system level prioritization and execution. The position reports to Mendaera’s Systems Engineering Manager, and will collaborate closely with our product management and engineering teams.

Salary range: $170,000 to $185,000
