You make independent decisions, support reliability testing, and assess system interactions, while also assisting in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to identify root causes and implement robust engineering solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced systems engineering principles to the design, implementation, and optimization of complex electro‑mechanical systems.

  • Generate and refine design concepts, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate actively in design reviews, providing technical input, identifying risks, and proposing solutions.

  • Develop test methods, including the design of experiments (DoE), to evaluate system performance against design specifications.

  • Use Python or similar tools to perform data analysis on test outputs, including digital sensor outputs, and interpret results to guide design decisions.

  • Design, build, and refine test beds to support verification, validation, and reliability testing activities.

  • Develop comprehensive testing plans that cover requirements verification, validation, and system‑level interactions.

  • Execute hands‑on testing protocols, including setup, operation, and monitoring of test equipment and systems.

  • Author detailed technical documents such as test protocols, test reports, design documentation, and risk assessments.

  • Manage the defect lifecycle by collecting, documenting, and summarizing defects, and communicating findings to development partners.

  • Perform troubleshooting on complex systems to identify, isolate, and resolve technical issues, including root cause analysis.

  • Support reliability testing and assess system interactions to ensure robust, safe, and effective system performance.

  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including feedback from testing and troubleshooting activities.

  • Apply risk and requirements management practices to ensure traceability from requirements through verification and validation.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including development, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Operate effectively in a regulated environment by following established procedures and supporting compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Essential Skills
  • Strong systems engineering experience, including requirements definition, verification, and validation for complex systems.

  • Demonstrated experience working with complex electro‑mechanical devices.

  • Proficiency in risk and requirements management, including traceability and documentation.

  • Technical writing skills with experience authoring protocols, test reports, and other engineering documentation.

  • Hands‑on experience with test method development and design of experiments (DoE).

  • Python coding capability for data analysis and processing of digital sensor outputs.

  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive testing plans and hands‑on testing protocols.

  • Experience with test bed development and setup for system and subsystem testing.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis of complex system issues.

  • Experience managing the defect lifecycle, including collection, documentation, and summarization for development partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Software Engineering.

  • Approximately 8 years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Experience in a regulated environment such as FDA or FAA (medical device industry experience is ideal).

  • Ability to make independent technical decisions and work with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
