Job summary

World Finance in Greenville, SC seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to own and modernize core infrastructure in a regulated hybrid environment. You will manage VMware ESXi/vCenter, Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), and Azure workloads while automating patching, backups, and security tasks.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Windows/Linux systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity (Entra ID) depth.

• Enterprise patching and vulnerability remediation across Windows and Linux, including RHEL.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize VMware ESXi/vCenter, Windows Server, and Linux (RHEL) workloads; lifecycle, performance, hardening, uptime, and storage.

The Systems and Network team runs a large, regulated hybrid environment spanning Windows and Linux servers and endpoints across on-premises VMware and Azure. This senior individual contributor serves as a technical anchor on a small team, automating repetitive work, deepening coverage across identity and core platforms, and addressing the infrastructure improvement backlog. The role owns the on-premises server platforms, Active Directory and identity services, enterprise patching, and the backup platform, and is the systems-side owner of the IT general controls that depend on them. Windows and Linux workloads hosted in Azure are supported under standards set by the cloud platform team, which owns the Azure platform itself. Information Security owns the security tooling, vulnerability-management program, and audit findings; this role is its primary engineering partner for server-estate remediation. Participate in BCP/DR exercises and audit-readiness programs.* Use PowerShell, Bash, and Python to automate provisioning, patching, backup validation, and reporting.
