Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a Senior Systems Designer, Progression to tackle high-level engagement challenges across the Fortnite ecosystem. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams to shape player goals, progression structures, and rewards that drive meaningful engagement and retention.

You will collaborate with product management and marketing to align player experience with business goals, while iterating live designs to respond to player feedback and market trends.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a game designer, working on engagement content or goal-based progression systems in live-service multiplayer environments.
• Deep understanding of player motivations, forms of play, and effects of goal setting on play.
• Strong interest in BR and the Fortnite ecosystem.
• Able to react quickly to changing project needs and drive decisions, then own that vision.
• Player-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative.

Responsibilities

• Craft meaningful goals for players that build exposure, experience, and mastery of new and existing game mechanics.
• Spearhead innovation in design for the engagement space, including systems, progression, and rewards.
• Communicate and represent a vision for the player’s experience to multiple teams across the company.
• Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to ensure player satisfaction and overall game health.
• Drive collaborative and iterative live design to prototype quickly and iterate.
