Job summary

Peraton seeks a Systems Engineer, Principal to join our national intelligence program in Northern Virginia. You will be the primary technical authority for strategic design, implementation, and 24/7 operational excellence of the IT Enterprise Infrastructure stack.

The role requires 16+ years of IT infrastructure experience (or equivalent with advanced degrees) and deep expertise in virtualization, containers, cloud orchestration, and Zero-Trust architectures. A CISSP or Security+ is required.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain Poly level clearance.
Bachelor's degree required; higher degree preferred.
10+ years IT infrastructure experience with 4+ years in lead/principal engineering roles.
Proven track record managing large-scale, distributed enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical authority for strategic design, implementation, and 24/7 operational excellence.
Lead infrastructure roadmaps for IT Enterprise modernization and tech refresh.
Oversee data centers, cloud environments, and network services with focus on modernization.
Bridge architecture and hands-on implementation ensuring zero downtime and high security.
Govern engineering standards and perform reviews to meet cybersecurity frameworks.
Oversee cloud migrations, data center modernization, and global networking.
Drive incident, problem, and change management with root-cause analysis.
