Job summary

College Station ISD Technology is seeking a System Administrator III in College Station, Texas. The role reports to the Director of Technology and manages the systems administration team, ensuring reliable IT operations across servers, email, and data center infrastructure.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience, and certifications such as MCSA/MCSE are preferred. The position is exempt, full-time, with a pay grade Adm/Professional and a salary range of $85,162–$103,855

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT related area preferred.
• 2+ years of experience performing system installation, upgrades, management and maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience of server administration and support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed systems analysis to define software requirements.
• Analyze system hardware and software problems and develop technical solutions.
• Write and maintain detailed systems documentation including user and technical manuals.
• Work with stakeholders and users to determine programming needs and provide technical assistance.
• Act as a liaison between developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and satisfaction.
• Provide programming-related support for administrative applications (e.g., student, payroll, finance, personnel).
• Coordinate business systems-related issues with regional educational service center staff and implement system enhancements.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server and Microsoft Active Directory
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper V
• Knowledge of identity access management tools
• Ability to communicate with users outside the department with tact and confidentiality
• Strong knowledge of data privacy and security requirements and procedures
• Disaster recovery, data safety and integrity, and bulk import/export procedures
• Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
