- This is a hybrid position with an onsite requirement 1-2 days in Oakland, CA or Rancho Cordova, CA. Candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance (approximately 50 miles) of Oakland, CA or Rancho Cordova, CA to support onsite requirements.
The Senior Systems Administrator - FP&A will be responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and supporting I&O and overall IT solutions to meet the business needs of Delta Dental. This role will analyze, test, and develop specifications and requirements for developers and programmers to follow. The Senior Systems Administrator will work within and across IT and business units and must possess a broad base of technical knowledge, with the ability to work effectively in highly technical environments as well as with leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors.
This position will be responsible for supporting the system needs of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department. The role will oversee the day-to-day maintenance, support, and enhancement of all EPM applications and systems, including Oracle Cloud EPM, PCM and EDM. In addition to EPM support responsibilities, the Senior Systems Administrator - FP&A will be assigned projects that support the Financial Planning & Analysis processes used by Delta Dental.
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle EPM Cloud and other core FP&A applications, tools, reports, and databases.
- Prepare Oracle EPM Cloud/Hyperion and other FP&A applications for planning, modeling, reporting, analytics, and cost allocation.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of data and logic within FP&A applications from input to extraction to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with Technology and other Delta Dental teams in managing Oracle EPM Cloud/Hyperion and other FP&A applications to maintain and enhance the operation and security of those systems.
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
- Assist users with questions and problems related to FP&A applications and data.
- Train users of FP&A applications and databases and maintain appropriate system and process documentation.
- Support FP&A and other Finance teams in meeting critical process and project timelines and due dates with high quality deliverables and output.
- Monitor current processes, system health and performance to identify existing or potential problems and new systems or data enhancements.
- Design, implement, and test application upgrades to meet the business and user needs, including the deployment of automation, AI, and other innovative technologies.
- Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish scope, system goals, and requirements for Oracle EPM Cloud- and FP&A-related projects.
- Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow.
- Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in application administration, systems administration, or a related IT role with Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience supporting enterprise financial planning, reporting, and business applications.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, processes, and best practices.
- Strong proficiency and administrative experience with Oracle EPM Cloud, Planning, PCMCS, EDMCS, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Fusion Cloud, and similar EPM/ERP platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience with Narrative Reporting, Data Integration, Data Exchange, and EPM Automate.
- Experience developing and supporting integrations using REST APIs, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or related technologies.
- Experience supporting Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle HCM, FCCS, ARCS, or other Oracle Cloud applications.
- Experience with SQL, PowerShell, or other scripting and automation tools.
- Experience supporting financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and cost allocation processes.
- Experience implementing automation, AI-enabled solutions, or other innovative technologies within enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and support.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical and business process documentation.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
The national base pay range at the end is a good‑faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
