Job summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage a mixed Windows and Red Hat Linux environment hosted in AWS. The role requires technical leadership, independence, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

This is an on-site position at Crystal City, VA, five days a week. Responsibilities include provisioning, patching, and STIG compliance across AWS, backups and DR planning, RBAC/AD management, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SSBI as required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience.
• Proficiency in Linux and AWS administration.
• Experience with security control assessment and remediation.
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) required.
• On-site requirement: 5 days/week, Crystal City, VA.

Responsibilities

• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and ensure resilience.
• Oversee user and permission management (RBAC, AD, ACLs, auditing) and enforce privilege controls.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, network analysis, and performance optimization in AWS.
• Drive security hardening and documentation; ensure compliance frameworks are followed.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and collaborate with Cyber Security.
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, PowerShell, and scripting tools.

You Are:

The Senior Systems Administrator, oversees the management, security, and optimization of a mixed Windows and RedHat Linux environment hosted in AWS. This role requires an experienced technical leader who can operate independently, guide junior administrators, and serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues. The position is fully onsite in Crystal City, VA, five days per week.

The Work:

• Administer and maintain Windows and RHEL systems across AWS, including server provisioning, patching, and compliance (STIG)
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and ensure infrastructure resilience
• Oversee user and permission management (RBAC, AD, ACLs, auditing) and enforce privilege management best practices
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, network analysis, and performance optimization within the AWS environment
• Drive security hardening, documentation, and adherence to compliance frameworks
• Create and maintain technical documentation and collaborate closely with Cyber Security
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, PowerShell, and related scripting tools

Here’s What You Need:

• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of hands‑on systems administration experience
• Proficient in both Linux and AWS administration
• Proven experience with security control assessment and remediation
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) required
• On‑site requirement: 5 days/week, Crystal City, VA

Bonus If You Have:

• Experience with DISA STIGs, POA&Ms, and the ATO process

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain SSBI

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is: $78,600—$160,200 USD
