Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage both virtual and physical servers for enterprise regional and local systems.
• Provide cross platform support for Windows Linux and UNIX based server environments with a focus on application and database performance troubleshooting and configurations.
• Install configure document maintain and support server environments hosting mission critical applications and infrastructure services.
• Design deploy and maintain secure Windows servers in AWS C2S environments.
• Monitor and optimize system performance including CPU memory disk usage and response times in AWS C2S environments.
• Ensure systems and databases meet security standards and comply with relevant regulations.
• Plan and execute system downtime for scheduled maintenance upgrades and new releases; install and test patches and updates for operating systems and database applications including Oracle and Solr.

Position Overview

The System Administrator manages and supports enterprise regional and local server environments hosting mission critical applications and infrastructure services This role is responsible for server administration database administration system deployment performance optimization security compliance incident response backup and disaster recovery documentation and cross platform support across Windows Linux and UNIX based environments

Key Responsibilities

Server Administration and Management

Oversee and manage both virtual and physical servers for enterprise regional and local systemsInstall configure document maintain and support server environments hosting mission critical applications and infrastructure servicesProvide cross platform support for Windows Linux and UNIX based server environments with a focus on application and database performance troubleshooting and configurations

Database Administration

Install configure and maintain database systems including Oracle and SolrPerform database backups restores and performance tuningMonitor database health and analyze performance metricsTroubleshoot database issues to ensure smooth operations

System Architecture Deployment and Configuration

Design deploy and maintain secure Windows servers in AWS C2S environmentsInstall and configure operating systems database software and application software across physical and virtual serversEnsure system software is properly integrated and supports enterprise applications

Performance Optimization and Resource Management

Monitor and optimize system performance including CPU memory disk usage and response times for AWS C2S environmentsImplement proactive measures to address potential performance bottlenecksTroubleshoot and resolve system issues related to resource usage

System Security and Compliance

Ensure systems and databases meet security standards and comply with relevant regulationsImplement and enforce security policiesConduct regular vulnerability assessmentsManage security updates and patches for operating systems and database environments

Incident Problem and Maintenance Management

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for troubleshooting diagnosing and resolving system and database issuesRespond to service outages coordinate recovery efforts and ensure timely resolution of problemsAssist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future issuesPlan and execute system downtime for scheduled maintenance upgrades and new releasesInstall and test patches and updates for operating systems and database applications including Oracle and Solr

Backup and Disaster Recovery

Oversee and validate regular system and database backupsEnsure data integritySupport disaster recovery plans by testing restoration procedures

Collaboration

Work with cross functional teams and external partners to install and configure server systemsSupport system integrations with other applicationsProvide user support and consult with clients on complex technical problemsMaintain accurate documentation of system configurations hardware software and processesProvide clear reporting for troubleshooting maintenance and security auditsTrain and mentor staff on server and database management best practicesAssist in developing training materials and ensuring operators are equipped to support the systems
