Job summary

MatX in Mountain View, CA is seeking a System Software Engineer to design and implement high-performance system software for GenAI silicon. You will collaborate with architecture and hardware teams to deliver scalable Linux drivers, low-level libraries, and daemons.

Required BS in EE or CS with 8+ years of Linux/kernel experience, strong C skills, and hardware-software bring-up ability. Hybrid role; on-site Tue-Thu in Mountain View.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years in system software and hardware-software bring-up.
• Strong C programming and Linux kernel driver experience.
• Ability to read hardware datasheets and program hardware devices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable system software components including device drivers in Linux.
• Deliver unit tests for all software components and kernel level software.
• CPU/memory subsystem optimization and performance profiling.
• Build observability, resiliency, and cluster management features.
