Job summary

Draper is seeking a Senior System Security Engineer in Cambridge, MA, to lead the design, integration, and deployment of trustworthy secure platforms. You will work across system, hardware, and software teams to protect information and networks against cyber threats and supply chain risks.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–10 years’ experience in system security engineering, and strong knowledge of cryptography, STIGs, and risk management. A Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in System Security Engineering or related role.
• Experience with secure architectures, cryptography, and systems security engineering processes.
• Familiarity with STIGs, risk management, and government security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and track security measures to protect information and networks.
• Design cybersecurity architecture and secure system capabilities.
• Identify and document security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software/hardware.
• Monitor systems for breaches, educate staff on security best practices.
• Mentor engineers and lead tasks, manage priorities and schedules.
• Develop mitigation plans for program/system-level risks.
