Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced firmware/software engineer to help define end-to-end solutions for our SOC and GPU firmware and software.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and system architecture teams, lead architecture decisions, and drive initiatives in functional safety, security, and next-generation capabilities, leveraging 8+ years of experience and strong C/C++ skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows kernel-mode drivers and device firmware.
• 8+ years of relevant software experience in embedded or systems software.
• BS or higher in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent.
• Strong C/C++ skills and low-level debugging abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and System Architecture teams to define end-to-end solutions.
• Define the firmware architecture for new products and features at the core of NVIDIA's SOC and GPU firmware and software.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic technologies, including functional safety, security, and next-generation system-on-chip and graphics processing unit capabilities.
• Drive technical direction across multiple teams while ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-quality firmware architecture.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and System Architecture teams to define end-to-end solutions.
• Define the firmware architecture for new products and features at the core of NVIDIA's SOC and GPU firmware and software.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic technologies, including functional safety, security, and next-generation system-on-chip and graphics processing unit capabilities.
• Drive technical direction across multiple teams while ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-quality firmware architecture.

What we need to see:

• Understanding of Windows Kernel-mode Drivers and Device Firmware
• Track record of success in solving complex problems with C, C++, or related languages.
• Experience with virtual memory management, interrupt handling, and other low-level system software functionality.
• Collaborative demeanor with ability to consider new insights and alternative solutions to sophisticated problems!
• Proven track record in firmware and/or software engineering
• Excellent communicator and a team-player mentality
• BS or a higher degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of relevant software experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Experience with system and chip bring up
• Background with virtualization technologies and containers
• Graphics programming knowledge (not required, but advantageous)

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits .
