Job summary

Brahma Consulting Group in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Platform Requirements & Interfaces) to own the requirements, ICDs, and verification plan for autonomous vehicle platforms in live production settings.

You will work with lidar, radar, cameras, and vehicle networks, guiding integration and test engineers and ensuring test results meet the right requirements and ISO 26262-style standards.

Job description

We're hiring a Senior Systems Engineer (Platform Requirements & Interfaces) for a fast-growing autonomous vehicle and Physical AI company in San Francisco that deploys real autonomous systems in live production environments. This is a priority hire.

You'll own the requirements, interfaces and verification plan for the autonomous vehicle platforms the company is bringing up. We're looking for someone who has done hands-on AV hardware work with lidar, radar, cameras and vehicle networks like CAN, and who now wants to work at the planning and verification level, making sure the integration and test engineers are building and testing the right things, at the right time, against the right requirements.

What you'll do

• Write and own system requirements and interface control documents (ICDs) for new vehicle platforms: sensors, compute, power and vehicle networks such as CAN and Automotive Ethernet
• Plan integration and test work so hands-on integration and test engineers know what to do, when to do it, and what to verify against
• Review and analyze vehicle test results with the test team and make pass/fail decisions on the vehicle platform (hardware/system level, not autonomy software behavior)
• Track verification coverage against requirements and partner with the functional safety lead so testing meets ISO 26262-style requirements
• Spend roughly 80–90% of your time on documentation, planning and analysis, and the rest in the garage or running vehicle tests

What we're looking for

• 5+ years as a systems engineer, with earlier hands-on AV or automotive hardware integration/test experience
• Experience writing system requirements and ICDs and owning verification & validation plans
• Working knowledge of lidar, radar, cameras, GNSS/IMU and vehicle networks (CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet)
• Familiarity with DTCs / vehicle diagnostics and ISO 26262
