Job description

We are supporting an early-stage space technology company in Los Angeles as they continue to expand their Systems Engineering organization.

The business is developing complex flight hardware and spacecraft systems, and is looking for Systems Engineers across several areas of specialization. These positions will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the full development lifecycle, from architecture and requirements through integration, verification, qualification and flight readiness.

Depending on your background, opportunities are available across Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test, and System Safety / Fault Protection.

Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
  • Own and manage system-level requirements, interfaces and verification activities.
  • Develop system architectures and support technical trade studies.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, avionics, software, GNC and test engineering teams.

  • Develop verification and validation plans, procedures and test campaigns.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during integration and test.
  • Support environmental testing, qualification and flight-readiness activities.
  • Perform system safety and reliability analysis including FMEA, FTA and hazard analysis.
  • Develop fault detection, isolation, recovery and spacecraft safing strategies.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support technical reviews and major program milestones.
We are interested in speaking with engineers who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles or other complex aerospace systems.
  • Systems engineering and requirements management.
  • System architecture and interface definition.
  • Integration, verification and validation.
  • Hardware/software integration and system-level testing.
  • Environmental qualification and test.
  • Fault management, fault protection or autonomous vehicle recovery.
  • System safety, hazard analysis, FMEA or FTA.
  • Working across multidisciplinary hardware and software teams.

Experience taking hardware from development through qualification, production or flight is particularly valuable.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing space company at an early stage and take significant technical ownership of flight systems.

The environment is highly hands-on, with Systems Engineers working directly alongside the teams designing, building, integrating and testing the hardware.

The company offers a competitive compensation package alongside meaningful equity.

Candidates from Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, Verification & Validation, Reliability, System Safety and Fault Protection backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
