Qualifications

• Above 5 years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering, semiconductor equipment experience preferred.
• Proficiency with mechanical and mathematical modeling tools and software.
• Hands-on experience with test setup, troubleshooting, lab equipment, and design of experiments.

Responsibilities

• Creates new projects from a broad and multidisciplinary architectural viewpoint.
• Conceptualizing the required components.
• Oversees the entire system aspects and manages unavoidable tradeoffs.
• Delivers a complete and complex framework, system or product.
• Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
• Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes.
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses.
• Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
• Creates the installation manuals of the module and supports issue troubleshooting for new installation.
• Support on tasks as: part failure analysis & generate report; machine setup and system level testing.
• Guides and teaches lower-level employees.

At Kulicke & Soffa (K&S), we are looking for a talented Systems Engineer to join our team and help develop innovative, high-performance solutions for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will work across engineering disciplines to define system requirements, integrate complex technologies, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure solutions meet performance, quality, and customer expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring advanced technology from concept to successful implementation.

Challenge different disciplines (electrical, mechanical and software) on technical aspects. You are the overall technical lead throughout the different development phases, from proof of concept to mass production readiness. In this role you will be able to define the architecture of the system based on ideas and possibilities from the market in collaboration with Product Managers. Transforming concepts into actual project plans.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

• Above 5 years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering, Semiconductor equipment experience preferred
• Wide-ranging experience with mechanical and mathematical modeling tools (Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB, Python, Mathcad)
• Wide-ranging hands-on experience – test set-up, troubleshooting, design of experiments, lab equipment, etc. (for example using test equipment such as laser displacement, thermal sensor, accelerometers)
• Experience working with vendors and sub-contractors
• Experience with solid modeling CAD software is preferred

Education Requirements

• Bachelor/ Master/ PhD’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent, master or above is preferred
