Job description

We are expanding our Copper Solutions Business Unit and seeking a System Architect to join our Enterprise Products team. This role is suited to a technically strong, commercially aware professional who can influence customer architecture decisions, shape product strategy, and strengthen Molex’s long-term advantage in high-speed copper interconnect solutions.

The position operates at the intersection of customer systems architecture, product development, and market strategy. It requires early customer engagement, long-term thinking, and the ability to translate technical and market insight into sustainable growth across enterprise data center ecosystems.

Our Team

At Molex, we create connections for life by enabling technologies that transform the future and improve lives. With presence in more than 40 countries, we offer a complete range of connectivity products, services, and solutions across various industries, including data communications, medical, industrial, automotive, and consumer electronics.

Our Datacom and Specialty Solutions (DSS) team develops connectivity solutions for telecommunications, cloud, hyperscale, data center, and storage platforms. We continue to innovate to meet the needs of next-generation markets.

As part of the Molex CTO organization, you will evaluate how emerging interconnect technologies can be successfully integrated into advanced computing systems. Your work will help shape technology investments, reference architectures, and future product roadmaps.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as a senior technical and architectural resource for high-speed enterprise copper interconnect solutions, engaging customers during early architecture definition, system trade studies, and development cycles when design decisions have the greatest long-term impact.
  • Communicate Molex’s advantages across next-generation copper technologies by connecting performance, manufacturability, scalability, and total system value to evolving cloud, hyperscale, and enterprise data center applications.
  • Turn customer insight into action by gathering and prioritizing voice-of-customer (VOC) input, then partnering with Product Management and Engineering to guide product platforms and technology roadmaps.
  • Identify new opportunities by engaging strategic customers, building technical relationships, and positioning Molex early in customer architecture decisions.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the enterprise and hyperscale ecosystem—including customer roadmaps, application trends, competitive activity, and technology inflection points that can guide strategic decisions.
  • Represent Molex as a technical thought partner at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums, strengthening Molex’s presence in the enterprise data center community.
What You Can Expect
  • Technical ownership of future connectivity architectures.
  • Collaboration with silicon partners and internal product teams.
  • Access to advanced simulation, measurement, and prototyping capabilities.
  • Opportunities to evaluate early-stage technologies and influence product decisions.
  • Broad visibility across the CTO organization, engineering teams, and business units.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant experience in hardware design, systems architecture, or a related field for high-performance systems.
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as engineering, field applications engineering, technical account management, or a comparable position, where complex technical concepts are translated into customer value.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and regions, collaborating with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Sound technical judgment and clear communication skills, with the ability to engage customer engineering teams and explain trade-offs, risks, and value.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%, primarily to customer sites in Silicon Valley and Austin, Texas, with additional domestic or international travel as needed for strategic customer engagements.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Knowledge of high-speed interconnect technologies, such as copper connectors, cable assemblies, signal integrity, mechanical design, or system-level integration. Relevant experience from adjacent technologies or industries may also be valuable.
  • Experience developing and communicating differentiated value propositions that connect technical capabilities with customer architecture, performance needs, and business priorities.
  • Familiarity with data center or enterprise computing applications, such as compute, networking, accelerator-based systems, silicon development, or system architecture.
  • Understanding of product lifecycle processes, including roadmap development, platform strategy, and product planning.

For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000 - $225,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
