Job summary

Navstar Inc. seeks an experienced System Administrator to support a large distributed network in national security programs. You will upgrade, sustain and maintain capabilities across air-gapped systems and complex server/storage environments.

The ideal candidate holds an active TS/SCI with Polygraph, a technical degree, 8+ years of SA experience, and hands-on expertise with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, Red Hat, VMware, and security best practices; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 8+ years of SA experience or more with substitution.
• Experience as a systems administrator supporting end users and technical staff.
• Proficient with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory.
• Experience with deployment, patches, OS, and backup/restore functions.
• Familiar with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.
• Experience with Red Hat and VMware.
• Strong information security principles and practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Install applications, administer systems and processes, resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure server/desktop configurations are optimized and running continuously.
• Perform security management and application performance optimization.
• Administer/sustain web-based information storage/distribution system.
• Create/maintain complex server enclaves, analyze scans, patching, cert renewals.
• Identify and correct hardware/software issues.
• Respond to system administration/maintenance problems and develop re-work solutions.
• Document complex server/network environments for incident resolution.
• Communicate with users and external support; confer with management on resolutions.
