Job summary

Independent Software is seeking a System Administrator Level 4 to support mission-critical IT systems in secure, high-availability environments. You will work across Linux and Windows to keep systems secure, stable, and performing at peak levels in classified settings.

The role entails leading troubleshooting, supporting Desktop Services (VDI and thin clients), coordinating with ISSOs and leadership, and ensuring compliance through patching and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 20+ years of System Administrator experience on similar programs.
• 8+ years supporting IT Service Management (ITSM).

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1–3 support for system issues across client, server, storage, and network environments
• Configure, manage, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systems
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability
• Perform account management and support user access to IT systems
• Apply patches, conduct vulnerability scans, and support system security compliance
• Support configuration management and system changes in coordination with ISSO and leadership
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across infrastructure and applications
• Support Desktop Services environments, including VDI and thin client technologies
• Communicate system status and provide updates to stakeholders
