Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks a System Administrator to join a new team in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will assist in engineering, design, installation, configuration, and maintenance for the CPPM program, modernizing existing systems that order, generate, produce, and distribute physical products.

Responsibilities include Tier 1/2 support, managing IT systems, and ensuring security tooling and compliance.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance with polygraph.
• 10-15 years' experience as a System Administrator in similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five years of additional SA experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security tools (container security, VM security, security boundary enforcement), configuration, and reporting tools.
• Experience with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, RedHat SELinux security tool suite is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide assistance to users accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Support escalation and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide in-depth troubleshooting of IT systems and detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems; install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components; implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
