Job summary

SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT ENGINEER at Cumming Group supports sustainability-focused construction for a public educational institution in Los Angeles, leading design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout of energy-related capital projects.

You will coordinate with district staff, architects, engineers, contractors, and SMEs, applying MEP, BMS, EIS, and BIM processes to ensure compliance with DSA requirements and district standards, while tracking schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum seven years' experience in project or construction management for large-scale facilities ($15M+).
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for reviewing and coordinating documents.
• Experience with BIM tools and BIM processes.
• Experience using enterprise PMIS for tracking, documentation and reporting.
• Familiarity with DSA design, approval, and construction processes.
• Working knowledge of MEP systems, including BMS and controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and project coordination support through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate with district personnel, architects, engineers, contractors, and SMEs.
• Review design documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and field orders.
• Support RFIs coordination with SMEs and design professionals.
• Maintain and distribute contract plans, specs, and project records.
• Assist with field verification to ensure compliance with District standards and DSA requirements.
• Track project schedules, COs, submittals, and implementation activities.
• Ensure contractors maintain record drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate project meetings and document minutes.
