Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Surveyor in Richland to lead the Survey Department, manage budgets and schedules, and drive business development across diverse projects. Youll oversee field crews and ensure high-quality land surveying outputs for Master Plans, ALTA surveys, and renewable energy sites.

Ideal candidates bring a Washington PLS license, 8+ years of supervision, and strong CAD proficiency. This on-site role offers growth opportunities within a national firm with a strong client

• 8+ years overseeing and performing land surveys as a registered PLS.
• Experience in office production including boundary, topographic and construction surveying.
• Experience in business development.

• Aspiration for growth including taking on management responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license.

As a Senior Surveyor in the Richland office, this leadership role will assist with the oversight and management of the Survey Department including project scheduling, budgets, proposals, and business development. Our multi‑disciplinary team at Apex services local and regional clients in many diversified, exciting projects such as Master Plan Developments, Long Plats, ALTA Surveys, renewable energy, and public land survey system sites to name a few.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Support the Richland Survey Department and projects
• Oversee and perform land survey and mapping functions
• Supervise Survey Technicians and survey field crews
• Plan and coordinate work of field staff
• Review and certify completed work to satisfy project requirements
• Work with Apex Clients to identify project needs and prepare scope and fee proposals
• Secure additional survey projects

What We Are Looking For

• Washington state registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
• 8+ years’ experience overseeing and performing land surveys as a registered PLS
• Experience in office production including boundary, topographic and construction surveying
• Experience in business development
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil3D and Carlson Survey
• Aspiration for growth opportunities including taking on management responsibilities
• Valid driver’s license

Annual Expected Pay Range: $125,000 USD - $140,000 USD
