Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Henderson and Reno, Nevada Surveying and Geodesy Group. The role involves coordinating field activities, preparing survey drawings, ALTA surveys, and legal descriptions, using CAD software for parcel maps, and resolving field and deed discrepancies.

You will also travel to field sites as required and coordinate with survey crews to ensure accurate data collection and reporting, leveraging strong math, CAD, and GPS skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus related experience as specified.
  • Strong technical writing and communication abilities required.
  • Solid math and trigonometry computation skills; CAD/survey software knowledge; basic GPS experience.
  • Familiarity with industry standard database software; PLS/RLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field surveying activities between field and office.

  • Produce/adjust topographic survey drawings, traverse, and level networks.
  • Write legal descriptions and utilize CAD to adjust drawings.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Henderson and Reno, Nevada Surveying and Geodesy Group.

Your role
  • Coordination of field surveying activities between the field to the office.
  • Researches or directs the research of legal records to identify previous boundaries.
  • Prepares or supervises the preparation of survey drawings, plats, maps and reports, including ALTA surveys.
  • Produces and/or corrects topographic survey drawings, traverse and level network adjustments.
  • Writes legal descriptions.
  • Utilizes CAD software to produce or adjust survey drawings, plats and parcel maps.
  • Recommends solutions to resolve deed conflicts, field problems and geometric errors and discrepancies.
  • Coordinates field work with survey crew and others, as required.
  • May occasionally travel to field sites and perform field work, as required by project.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree plus two years related experience OR an associate's degree in a related technical field plus ten years related experience OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus twelve years related experience is required.
  • Good technical writing, computer and communication skills.
  • Strong math and trigonometry computation skills. Good knowledge of CAD and survey software. Basic knowledge of GPS.
  • Must be familiar with industry standard database software.
  • RLS/PLS Required.

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $80,000-$130,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
