Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead our field surveying operations in the Hampton Roads, VA area. You will be responsible for the daily operation of a survey crew across land surveying projects, including geodetic, boundary, topographic, and construction staking.

You will manage field crew tasks, read construction plans, coordinate layouts for sites, and ensure QA/QC of site control. Strong math skills and prior field-staff leadership are essential for success at Pennoni.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 8–12 years' experience in commercial construction surveying.
• Ability to perform field work including heavy manual labor.
• Strong math skills and comfortable with field supervision.

Required experience

• High School Diploma
• Minimum years of experience: 8-12 years with a concentration in commercial construction.
• Capable of field work which may include heavy manual labor
• Logical mindset
• Adaptive understanding of problems
• Experienced in field staff management
• Solid math skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced in Excel spreadsheets and computers
• Experienced in modern survey technology and equipment
• Looking for growth in professional career
• Knows some AutoCAD

TARGET SALARY RANGE:

$62,400 - $90,000 (per year) or $30-$45 per hour based on experience
