Job summary

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD is seeking a Senior Surgical Technician for the Full Time Day Shift. The role requires call and weekend availability and serves as a key preceptor for newer staff in the operating room.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of OR experience, CPR certification, and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Certification by AST/NBSTSA or NCCT is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Certified by AST, NBSTSA, STLC, or NCCT is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Allied Health preferred.
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for specialty cases and equipment/instrumentation.
• Act as primary preceptor for inexperienced Surgical Technicians and orient staff to the scrub role in the OR.
