Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Indiana is seeking a Sr. Surgical Technician to support the operative team.

You will focus on preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assist the surgeon during procedures. The role requires adapting to changing situations in the OR, applying aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge, and ensuring patient safety from neonate to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Three years as a Surgical Technician and CST/CSA certification.
• Diploma OR three years of surgical tech experience OR successful completion of a Surgical Tech Apprentice Program.
• One of: CST, CSA, TS-C, CORST, CSFA.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during intra-operative procedures and support the surgical team.
• Prepare and handle instrumentation and surgical equipment for procedures.
• Apply aseptic technique and knowledge of medical terminology and the metric system.
• Adapt to urgent or emergency situations and plan effectively during surgeries.
