Job summary

The United States National Guard invites applications for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic in the ME FMS 2, National Guard. The role includes maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and overhaul of combat and support vehicles and equipment, from engines to hydraulics.

You will work under the J-4 Logistics Directorate at the Surface Maintenance Facility, performing field and shop repairs, guiding lower-grade staff, and ensuring unit readiness during IDT and AT training.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty military and commercial vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with reading repair manuals and using diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and major repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and diagnose causes using gauges, meters, and diagnostic systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble engines and major assemblies.
• Inspect, test, and adjust vehicles to ensure readiness for operations.
