Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key consumer of operational and logistics data, using analytics to manage the complexity of a 75-warehouse network and drive inventory, capex, procurement, and warehouse decisions.
- Partner with Technology to define data and reporting requirements, obtain and validate data, and ensure outputs are accurate and fit for purpose.
- Build analytical models, forecasts, and scenario analyses for demand, equipment utilization, inventory, and capex, translating complex datasets into actionable insights and executive recommendations.
- Leverage dashboards and reporting to monitor KPIs, identify trends, outliers, risks, and opportunities, and define enhancements for the BI team.
- Serve as the supply chain subject-matter expert for ERP and business systems, defining reporting requirements and validating system outputs.
- Monitor inventory and equipment by warehouse and product type, analyzing utilization, deployment rates, idle inventory, rental turns, aging, repair status, and availability.
- Identify excess inventory, equipment shortages, and opportunities to rebalance assets across locations; support inventory standards including par levels, safety stock, and reorder thresholds.
- Track equipment useful life, deployment duration, utilization, and survivability to anticipate replacement cycles and future capital needs.
- Support annual and monthly capex planning and forecasting, distinguishing maintenance, replacement, growth, and acquisition-related capital needs.
- Analyze purchasing, utilization, repair, retirement, deployment, census, customer growth, geographic expansion, acquisition, and warehouse-opening trends to inform long-term equipment and capex forecasts.
- Track capital expenditures against budget and forecast; partner with Finance and Operations to evaluate equipment-purchase and expansion ROI and identify opportunities to optimize capital spend through redeployment, inventory controls, loss recovery, and vendor negotiations.
- Leverage AI/ML and predictive analytics to anticipate equipment needs, identify changing usage patterns and anomalies, and improve capital purchasing decisions and ROI.
- Analyze vendor performance across pricing, lead times, fill rates, quality, warranty claims, service levels, and payment terms; maintain vendor scorecards and purchasing dashboards.
- Evaluate purchasing history and vendor concentration to identify pricing opportunities, volume discounts, alternative sourcing, supply-chain redundancy, and negotiation strategies.
- Monitor product availability, lead times, and supply disruptions and provide pricing and volume/performance data to support vendor negotiations.
- Analyze warehouse efficiency, inventory productivity, fulfillment, technician productivity, route density, and equipment availability to identify performance and profitability opportunities.
- Identify markets with excess equipment, recurring stockouts, high repair needs, or inefficient purchasing patterns and recommend corrective actions.
- Support evaluations of new warehouse openings, consolidations, market expansions, de novo investments, and acquired-business integrations.
- Support strategic projects involving route optimization, warehouse productivity, capex efficiency, vendor consolidation, equipment standardization, and acquisition integration.
- Evaluate supply chain requirements for new-market entry, large-customer onboarding, and strategic-account growth.
- Partner with Finance and Operations on initiatives to reduce expenses, improve cash-flow conversion, and optimize overall supply chain performance., and help build a disciplined, data-driven supply chain function as the company scales.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to work with large operational datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Power BI or comparable BI tools to analyze data and monitor performance.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar tools to query, extract, and interpret data.
- Demonstrated ability to translate analysis into insights and influence operational and capital decisions.
- Sound financial acumen, including capex, ROI, and budget-versus-forecast analysis.
- Effective communication skills and collaboration across multiple teams including Finance, Operations, Technology, and field teams.
- High-ownership mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
