Job summary

Medtronic Tempe Campus is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers focused on ensuring the delivery of high-quality components and services in line with purchasing controls. • Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering/related field with 7+ years in engineering/quality in regulated industry and 5+ years leadership.
• Nice-to-have: Electronics/PCBA experience, MBA or advanced technical degree, ASQ CQE/CQA/CSQP, Six Sigma/Lean certifications, strong communication and project planning, change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers overseeing quality components, materials, and services in compliance with purchasing controls.
• Develop and monitor systems to track supplier and team performance (training, nonconformances, CAPA, change control).
• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues found during incoming inspection or production.
• Drive corrective/preventive actions for supplier-related issues and coordinate audits and regulatory inspections.

In this exciting role as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineering Manager, you will have responsibility for leading teams of Supplier Quality Engineers located at our Medtronic Tempe Campus. Your team will be accountable for changes to existing supplied products and processes, as well as oversight of performance, improvement activities, and quality risk reductions initiatives.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers that are responsible for ensuring delivery of quality components, materials, and services in compliance to purchasing controls
• Develop/maintain monitoring systems to track supplier & team performance (training, nonconformances, open actions, Supplier CAPA, supplier change control, Global Supplier Quality improvement programs, goals, etc.)
• Lead cross-functional teams of engineers and manufacturing functions to investigate and resolve supplier-related quality or compliance issues discovered during incoming inspection and/or production
• Lead team in corrective/preventive actions to resolve supplier-related issues (e.g., nonconformances, Supplier CAPA activities, audit findings, complaint investigations, etc.)
• Ensures compliance to purchasing controls, including supporting internal, external notified body audits, and FDA inspections and outcomes
• Manage performance, develop talent, engagement and inclusion, communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize and/or direct the responsibilities of direct reports.
• Accountable for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on meeting / exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives
• Provide leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets, conducting performance reviews, and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts and manage toward departmental goals

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 7+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in Electronics, PCBA manufacturing.
• MBA, Master's/Advanced Degree in Engineering, science or technical field
• ASQ CQE, CQA and/or CSQP certification
• First Time Quality (FTQ) Coach / Six Sigma / Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certified
• Strong communication, organizational and project planning skills
• Demonstrated track record of effectively influencing and negotiating with others and leading effective/successful change initiatives
• Proven judgment in assessing risks and communicating complex technical challenges to upper management.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills for the team of direct reports.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
