Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems NIC in San Diego, CA is seeking a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (Level 3) to join the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) team and drive supplier quality initiatives on key programs. This on-site role focuses on ensuring high-quality parts and process excellence across the supplier base.

The candidate will perform FAI per AS9102, lead root-cause analysis, manage SCARs, and collaborate with internal and external teams, with travel up to 25% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with minimum years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply chain.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools.
• Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
• Experience with Quality Management system.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Active U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Represent Northrop Grumman to the supply chain with credibility, confidence, and professionalism.
• Engage in program activities to identify and quantify supplier performance as proactive risk mitigation.
• Attend program reviews and review boards including CCB, MRB, PMR, Design/Peer Reviews, MTRs, and CAB.
