Job summary

Valmont Industries in Nebraska is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality across high‑spend commodities. You will drive advanced planning, audits, SCAR/CAPA, and cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, operations and sourcing.

The role requires extensive QA expertise, problem solving, and the ability to influence without direct authority. Travel to supplier sites is expected as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with extensive supplier quality experience.
• Experience owning complex supplier issues in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and supplier quality methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, A3, 5 Whys).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier nonconformance investigations with robust root cause analysis.
• Manage SCAR/CAPA processes end-to-end and communicate results to leadership.
• Plan and conduct supplier quality audits for qualification and ongoing performance.
• Lead APQP/PPAP activities for new products and major changes.
• Mentor other quality engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel to supplier sites as required (+50%).
