Job summary

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, seeks a motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our onsite team in Palo Alto, CA. You will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve component quality, resolve manufacturing issues at supplier locations, and strengthen supplier processes across the product lifecycle.

You will lead quality data analysis, implement PPAP/APQP practices, and drive corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.
8–10+ years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Manage quality performance for an assigned group of suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance with quality data, dashboards and KPIs.
Investigate supplier-related issues affecting incoming inspection, manufacturing, installation, and field service.
Lead or support root cause investigations and supplier corrective actions (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
Review supplier corrective actions and ensure prevention of recurrence.
Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Regulatory, Service and other stakeholders for supplier changes and qualification activities.
Participate in supplier audits and cross‑functional reviews to resolve issues.
