Job summary

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, seeks a hands-on Supplier Quality Engineer to improve supplier quality and manufacturing processes onsite in Palo Alto, CA. You will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure robust PPAP/APQP readiness and rapid containment of issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in supplier quality or related engineering role.
• Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments (medical devices, automotive, aerospace, etc.).
• Hands-on with PPAP/APQP, qualification methodologies, and data-driven problem solving.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and related quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality for an assigned group of suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance using data dashboards and KPIs.
• Investigate supplier-related issues and coordinate containment and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
• Review corrective actions for effectiveness and prevention of recurrence.
• Support supplier readiness activities including PPAP, APQP, and First Article Inspection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review drawings and specifications.
