Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the quality program for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment used across AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in a quality management function with direct interaction with suppliers.
• 8+ years in Electrical, Mechanical Product manufacturing, supplier quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment to meet technical and quality requirements.
• Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality, working closely with suppliers, engineering, procurement and other internal stakeholders.
• Improve equipment quality by identifying and closing gaps through on-site audits to ensure suppliers’ quality systems, products, and processes meet AWS Quality and product specification requirements.
• Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs and track supplier performance with key performance indicators.
• Develop critical-to-quality parameters, perform inspections and functional testing for complex equipment to ensure defect-free, high-quality equipment.
• Review historical failures, equipment design changes and lessons learned to update equipment technical specifications.
• Lead root cause analysis for complex electrical and mechanical equipment and critical components, working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate and validate root cause analysis reports from a technical perspective using critical thinking and quality principles.
• Develop new product and/or new supplier qualification plans, driving the quality program from prototyping to mass production for complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Perform data analysis on failures reported during the equipment lifecycle and create technical reports to provide design and specification improvement inputs.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Provide 30‑50% international and domestic travel.
