Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to assist the Supplier Quality Manager in aligning supplier processes with design intent and verifying supplier systems for PowerSecure requirements. The role focuses on ongoing supply chain verification and risk analysis with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in supplier quality, ASQ certification preferred, and hands-on experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and ERP

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in supplier quality engineering or similar
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Hands-on experience in supply chain development
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with fabrication or electrical switchgear components preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems SAP or IFS preferred
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA
  • Experience auditing and evaluating new suppliers preferred
  • Experience evaluating and improving measurement systems
  • Root cause analysis tools: 8D, 5-Why, Red X

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with purchasing and engineering to minimize risk and ensure conformance
  • Partner with Design/Manufacturing teams to define process parameters for capability
  • Lead supplier qualification, document reviews, and on-site audits
  • Monitor quality performance and drive KPI improvements
  • Improve supplier introduction, qualification, and evaluations
  • Evaluate supplier selections and approve corrective actions
  • Define incoming inspection requirements via risk analysis
  • Support quality system changes to boost manufacturing efficiency
  • Drive Right the First Time mindset within the supply base
  • Review assembly specs for manufacturability with engineering
  • Participate in internal quality system audits
  • Promote continuous improvement culture in manufacturing
  • Travel to supplier sites up to 50% for audits and actions
