Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer in North Reading, MA to drive supplier quality improvements across product development and sustaining operations.

The role reports to the Manager of Supplier Quality in Robotics Deployment and Packaging Innovation Design for Scale and requires hands-on experience with quality systems, process audits, and cross-functional collaboration with global teams. Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience developing functional specs, design verification plans and functional test procedures
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in Supplier Quality
• BS Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or equivalent experience
• Experience with quality tools such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA
• Experience implementing quality engineering principles through development and NPI programs
• Knowledge of ISO9001 or AS9100

Responsibilities

• Actively support a culture of inclusion
• Develop supplier quality engagement strategies from product development through sustaining operations
• Develop strategy and support supplier product qualification best practices
• Engage in the Product Development Process (PDP)
• Review qualification documents (DFM, PFMEAs, Control Plans)
• Support hardware development and implementation reducing cost and risk
• Scale supplier process and quality systems to reduce field defect rates
• Lead surveillance and process audits for adherence and continuous improvement
• Drive internal/external CAPAs and design change opportunities
• Identify failure trends and drive investigation and remediation
• Coordinate supplier change requests
• Define supplier selection, approval and development process
• Conduct pre-business award scalability assessments and sourcing initiatives
• Guide best practice supplier management activities
