Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Supplier Performance Engineer to support fabrication of Electrical and I&C components from supplier facilities. Hybrid role with travel; in-office presence required two days a week in Cranberry Township, PA.

Reporting to the Manager, SPX Manufacturing Engineering within APX Supply Chain, you will oversee supplier performance, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with ASME and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience in Power Generation or Nuclear Industries preferred; other industries listed include Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production Platforms, Ship Building, Manufacturing Plants, or Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure technical and quality requirements are met.
• Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans for document submittals, manufacturing activities, inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight to drive performance.
• Identify and elevate supplier issues, risk, and quality events.
• Guide prompt resolution of issues by coordinating communications and partners for corrective action.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality, non-conformances) and drive improvements.
• Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans.
• Manage internal and external corrective action requests and verify action closure.

About the role

As a Senior Supplier Performance Engineer, you will support the fabrication of Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) components from supplier facilities.

You will report to the Manager, SPX Manufacturing Engineering within the APX Supply Chain's WBS 9/10 Electrical and I&C Procurement Management organization.

This is a hybrid position with travel. We will require you, when not traveling, to be in the Cranberry, PA office two days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• You will Perform on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved.
• Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to lead completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and tests and ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements.
• Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain (buyers and category managers), Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight.
• You will Identify and elevate supplier issues, risk, and quality events.
• Guide prompt resolution of issues by coordinating activities, issuing communications, and identifying partners to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition of issues, and implementation of corrective action.
• Monitor main supplier performance metrics, such as On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, and non-conformances, for assigned suppliers. Identify negative performance trends and implement causal analysis, corrective actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans to reduce issues.
• Evaluate procurement (supplier) risk, soliciting partner input, and using resources to develop security of supply risk mitigation plans.
• You will Manage internal and external (supplier) corrective action requests, perform cause analyses and verify completion of preventative and corrective actions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• We prefer experience in the Power Generation or Nuclear Industries. However, it could also be in any of the following industries: Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production Platforms, Ship Building, Manufacturing Plants, or Supply Chain.
• Knowledge in manufacturing processes (e.g., precision machining (turning, milling), welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing).
• Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification.
• Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs.
• Read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards.
