Req ID: 52106
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL, US
Employment Type: Full Time
Segment: Danfoss Climate Solutions Segment
Job Category: Supply Chain and Operations
Work Location Type: On-site
Job Experience Level: Associate

The Impact You'll Make

As our Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer in Tallahassee, Florida, you’ll shape how supplier manufacturing solutions move from early concepts into capable, scalable, and cost-competitive production. You’ll connect suppliers with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Manufacturing to strengthen readiness for new product introductions, localization, design changes, transfers, and capacity expansions. You’ll also turn technical insight into measurable value by leading Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and Idea Generation Workshops, challenging product and process assumptions, and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturability, productivity, cost, and sustainability. Success in this role means delivering robust supplier launches and transfers while building an implementation-ready pipeline of improvements that strengthens manufacturing capability, capacity, delivery reliability, and cost competitiveness.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead supplier industrialization from concept and sourcing through process qualification, production ramp-up, and stable serial delivery, ensuring manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, capacity, and operational risks are ready for launch.
  • Assess and improve supplier manufacturing capability through site assessments, technical workshops, capacity reviews, production trials, and readiness reviews, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities to improve flow, productivity, lead time, and total landed cost.
  • Drive VA/VE and Idea Generation Workshops with suppliers and cross-functional teams, turning opportunities in design simplification, standardization, materials, automation, assembly, sustainability, and process optimization into actionable business cases and measurable results.
  • Influence product and sourcing decisions by partnering with Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Finance on design for manufacturability, Design-to-Cost, Should-Cost, make-or-buy, localization, dual-source, and supplier-selection decisions.
  • Build and manage a structured improvement pipeline, tracking industrialization milestones, investments, capacity, costs, risks, ownership, timing, and benefits to move opportunities from idea through implementation.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Controls, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in supplier industrialization, manufacturing engineering, supplier development, value engineering, operational excellence, product cost optimization, or closely related work.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering supplier industrialization, new product introductions, localization, production transfers, or capacity expansions, including manufacturing feasibility and capacity analysis.
  • Hands-on ability to lead VA/VE and structured idea-generation workshops, translating ideas into feasibility assessments, business cases, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong manufacturing and commercial engineering knowledge, including interpreting drawings and tolerances, manufacturing processes, process routing, cost breakdowns, Design-to-Cost/Should-Cost, and investment evaluation, plus willingness to travel up to 20% annually based on business needs.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in compressor, HVAC, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Practical experience or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, value methodology, or continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with global suppliers on localization, supply-chain resilience, or cross-cultural initiatives.
What You’ll Get from Us
  • We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  • You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  • We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  • You’ll receive benefits like annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
