Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, CA is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Supplier Development) to drive supplier development initiatives in partnership with Strategic Procurement.

You will lead capability improvement, supplier qualification, and risk reduction activities to strengthen supply continuity and product quality. Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in Supplier Engineering, Supplier Development, or related technical functions.
• Experience leading supplier development, process improvement, or capability development initiatives.
• Experience working with suppliers to resolve technical, quality, or manufacturing challenges.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier development initiatives to improve quality, scalability, and long-term readiness.
• Support supplier qualification activities including process assessments and readiness evaluations.
• Drive supplier capability improvement through Kaizen events and process optimization projects.
• Assess supplier capability, capacity, and risk to ensure supply continuity.
• Mentor engineers on supplier quality and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with Strategic Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, and R&D to drive improvements.
