Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supplier Account Manager IV for Rare Earths in Austin, TX. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10+ years in strategic sourcing or supplier management.
• Experience negotiating complex supply agreements, development agreements, confidentiality agreements, and commercial terms.
• Demonstrated ability to build dual-source, localization, inventory, recycling and alternative-material strategies.
• Understanding of geopolitical, environmental, regulatory, responsible-sourcing, and trade-compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop near-term and long-range category strategies for rare-earth materials and related technologies.
• Assess global supply markets, capacity, cost drivers, geopolitical exposure and supply-chain risks.
• Identify and manage strategic suppliers across mining, separation, refining, alloying, magnet production, and recycling.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations and contracts including pricing frameworks and supply commitments.
• Build should-cost, total-cost-of-ownership and scenario analyses to inform supplier selection.
• Coordinate cross-functional sourcing decisions and present risks and recommendations to senior leadership.
