City of New York’s NYC Health Department invites applications for a Supervising Sanitarian in the Environmental Investigations and Enforcement Unit. The role leads APHS Level I staff, assigns inspections, and ensures compliance with health regulations across programs related to environmental health and disease prevention.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in physical/biological sciences, two years of inspection experience, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in physical or biological sciences or equivalent (as described in the minimum qualifications).
• Two years of satisfactory full-time inspection experience in related environmental health areas.
• At least 60 semester credits including physical/biological sciences and compliance with NYCRR Title 10 Health requirements.

Aufgaben

• Supervises APHS Level I and clerical staff in the unit.
• Assigns work and sets schedules for the team.
• Reviews staff performance and enforces standards.
• Trains staff on new procedures and onboarding.
