Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior - Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) for critical facilities/data center projects. The role requires leading design, coordination across trades, and client liaison in a hybrid office/remote setting.

Candidates should have a PE license, 8–12+ years in consulting, and strong REVIT/AutoCAD MEP experience. Responsibilities include QA/QC, cost estimation, and team supervision to deliver complex engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in either mechanical or electrical discipline
  • 8+ to 12+ years' experience in a consulting firm
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience and managing project team and client liaison
  • REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
  • Knowledge to prepare red-line markups for CAD personnel to pick-up
  • Ability to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections, elevations and visualize 3D space in building construction
  • Expertise in trade specific design and calculation software
  • Ability to make proper system selections
  • Ability to understand the work of other trades
  • Thorough understanding of applicable codes
  • Knowledge of SKM Software and ability to perform Short Circuit coordination and Arc Flash Studies
  • PE required

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Firm in interactions with critical facilities/data center clients, contractors, architects, and project team members
  • Provide trade-specific system design: layout (CAD/BIM); calculations; and coordination with other trades

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior - Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) - CF, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with critical facilities/data center clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) in collaboration with more senior technical staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences in collaboration with senior technical staff
  • Participate in / Ensure / Oversee the QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
  • Collaborate with senior staff in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgets
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
  • Process RFI's, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
  • As appropriate, manage CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned to a particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer
  • Assists with employee reviews as requested
  • Write engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects
  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepares presentations
  • Estimates construction costs and evaluates the feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in either mechanical or electrical discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ to 12+ years' experience working in a consulting firm
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience and managing project team and client liaison
  • REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
  • Possesses sufficient knowledge to prepare red-line markups for CAD personnel to pick-up
  • Knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction
  • Possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software
  • Demonstrates ability to make proper system selections
  • Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades
