Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking a Senior - Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) in Dallas, TX to lead design and coordination for critical facilities and data center projects. You will oversee CAD/BIM work, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and manage budgets and schedules.

The role requires 8–12+ years in consulting, PE preferred, and strong proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and SKM software. This is a hybrid in-office/remote opportunity within a dynamic, global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• Minimum 8–12+ years in a consulting environment.
• 4+ years supervisory experience and client liaison.
• REVIT and AutoCAD MEP proficiency required.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, sections, and elevations.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams.
• Provide trade-specific system design using CAD/BIM and related software.
• Coordinate with other trades and senior staff on project design and scheduling.
• Oversee QA/QC processes for own work and team members.
• Manage CAD/BIM staff and assist with staff reviews and engineering proposals.
• Estimate construction costs and evaluate feasibility using ROM methods.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior - Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) - CF, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with critical facilities/data center clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) in collaboration with more senior technical staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences in collaboration with senior technical staff
• Participate in / Ensure / Oversee the QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
• Collaborate with senior staff in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgets
• Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
• Process RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
• As appropriate, manage CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned to a particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer
• Assists with employee reviews as requested
• Write engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects
• Participates in various trade organizations and prepares presentations
• Estimates construction costs and evaluates the feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in either mechanical or electrical discipline
• Minimum of 8+ to 12+ years’ experience working in a consulting firm
• 4+ years of supervisory experience and managing project team and client liaison
• REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
• Possesses sufficient knowledge to prepare red-line markups for CAD personnel to pick-up
• Knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction
• Possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software
• Demonstrates ability to make proper system selections
• Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades
• Exhibits a thorough understanding of applicable codes
• Knowledge of SKM Software and ability to perform Short Circuit coordination and Arch Flash Studies, highly preferred
• PE required
