Job summary

Koehncs is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on major construction projects in the United States. You will drive safety, quality, and production, supervise superintendents, coordinate with PMs, and guide on-site teams to meet demanding schedules.

You’ll mentor field leaders, implement Koehn standards, and ensure project readiness across portfolios while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and enforcing strict field practices.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of competency in commercial or industrial construction with leadership of large projects.
• Strong expertise in scheduling, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, quality control, and safety enforcement.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and mentor superintendents and foremen while protecting schedule and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to superintendents and field staff.
• Administrate scheduling tools and coach the Superintendent team on best practices.
• Monitor field capacity and allocate team assignments across projects and markets.
• Ensure work is installed per plans, specs, and Koehn quality expectations.

Role Summary

The Senior Superintendent provides field leadership for construction projects, ensuring that job site operations meet Koehn standards for safety, quality, and production. This role assigns and oversees superintendents, supports project execution, resolves field issues, and drives accountability across jobsite teams. The Senior Superintendent represents Koehn in the field, maintains strong communication with Project Managers, and provides training and guidance in developing superintendents.

Core Responsibilities

LMA

• Provides leadership, direction, and accountability to superintendents and field staff.
• Conducts coaching and performance development to strengthen field team capabilities.
• Ensures field teams follow Koehn processes, expectations, and communication standards.

Schedule Portfolio Performance

• Administrate scheduling tools and provides training and coaching to the Superintendent team for project scheduling best practices and process.
• Monitor field capacity and manage team assignments across the team.
• Own the scheduling across all projects in the portfolio by market.

Quality Control

• Ensures work is installed according to plans, specifications, and Koehn quality expectations.
• Identifies quality risks early and assists in corrective actions to avoid rework.
• Collaborates with PMs to resolve field quality issues quickly and efficiently.

Jobsite Safety Culture

• Ensures all field operations comply with Koehn safety requirements and regulatory standards.
• Conducts field walks, reviews hazard controls, and addresses safety concerns promptly.
• Supports superintendent enforcement of daily safety practices and documentation.

Superintendent Process

• Provides training, mentoring, and process development for new and existing superintendents as well as development of a singular Koehn standard.
• Identifies skill gaps and supports continuous improvement in field leadership.
• Ensures superintendents understand project requirements, planning expectations, and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred; or a combination of education and progressive experience providing at least 10-15 years of competency in commercial or industrial construction with demonstrated leadership of large or complex projects.
• Strong expertise in project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, quality control, and safety enforcement with the ability to manage multiple crews and maintain production performance.
• Proven ability to lead field teams, mentor Superintendents and Foremen, and resolve complex jobsite challenges while protecting schedule, quality, and company standards.
• Professional, decisive, and respected in the field with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Project Development, and executive leadership.
