Job summary

Safe Site Utility Services LLC in Glendale, AZ is seeking a SUE Quality Level A Technician III to plan, locate, and lay out small projects, taking on challenging test holes and delivering accurate field records. With limited oversight, you will keep projects on budget and schedule, train Technician I/II staff, and occasionally act as crew lead while representing Safe Site professionally on client sites.

Qualifications

• Independently complete and document Quality Level A work at Technician II level or equivalent.
• Experience with electromagnetic (EM) utility locating and reading utility/construction plans.
• Able to work in congested corridors and deep excavations with multiple utilities.
• Strong organizational skills for tracking production, quantities, and delays.
• Capable of training, coaching, and evaluating less experienced technicians.
• Clear, professional communication and reporting skills.
• Proficient with computers and field data collection software.
• Commitment to safety for self and crew.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round, including Arizona heat.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime.
• Able to walk long distances daily.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, locate, and lay out assigned projects.
• Plan daily field production and adjust resources to meet budget and schedule.
• Handle congested corridors, multiple utilities, deep excavations, and unusual configurations.
• Review plans for potential conflicts before excavation.
• Perform QA/QC on field documentation before reporting.
• Verify test-hole, ribbon numbers, photos, and records in documentation software.
• Document inaccessible or unverified test holes and escalate appropriately.
• Track daily quantities, production, delays, and extra work.
• Assist with change-order documentation and supporting information.
• Train Technician I and II employees and act as crew lead as needed.
• Follow safety requirements for traffic-control, excavation, confined-space, and jobsite safety.
